Most of you probably know my Snowy was diagnosed with lymphoma back in October 2015 aged 10/11, but really thrived on monthly steroid depo injections. She lived with her 'husband' Sydney, and son, Henry and was the most wonderful little girl in every way.
She is one of the few ferrets that would fall asleep on your lap in preference to anywhere else and she was so incredible with other ferrets, fair and gentle no matter the attitude she encountered.
She has been Sydney's lifeline, and I firmly believe he would not be here today without her.
It hasn't really sunk in that she's gone. I made the decision to help her along last night as the lymphoid tumour in her third eyelid has ulcerated. She had had a head tilt and these little lymphoid lumps popping up everywhere for quite some time but she has been running around as normal, eating like a horse and doing all of the things she enjoys.
Right up until the end she was eating her special duck treats in her carrier and looking so lively. Luckily she is so used to injections now, she didn't notice the anaesthetic cocktail go into her scruff, and she fell asleep amongst her boys, Syd and Henry, before we gave her that final injection and sent her on her journey.
The boys seem okay, I think they understand as I let them see her after she'd gone.
It will seem wrong to not hear her scrabbling up the tubes when tea is served, and I will miss her cuddles.
I miss her so much, she is an irreplaceable little personality.
