No.... Basically, we have 2 potential ones... one is the aubretia has grown down the wall behind the green house, and with the rubbish that WAS stored behind there, we wondered if she managed to jump up to it, and then climb up it. Don't think so, as there were no tell tale signs, like flower heads/leaves below it, and the jump would have had to be over 2 foot.

The second (more likely) way is, our lovely garden proud neighbours, have managed to damage a bit more of their fence, and there is now a slat just above our plastic ferret proofing that is missing and I think she took a leap of faith from a pile of bricks I had stacked around the side of the shed and got through the gap. Bricks now moved, and hole covered.... That is the area she has re-shown an interest in, so I am guessing it was there.

Funny thing is, Arfer is the escape artist, and climbs and jumps from everything, but he never found it. She now has to have an Escort every time she goes out in the garden until I am happy she has not got somewhere hidden.
I ferret proofed my house... but they still keep getting in

Like my Misty, she is a little swine, she will move toys to get over the barrier at the kitchne door, luckily it's the one into the house so she is still relatively safe, just damned hard to find in all the junk in our house. She did it the other day when Mark was having a nap, he thought we had rats in the house

We've a few we need to watch - Misty and Billy in particular. Nico is our quickest but she dances and dooks too much to be a stealth ferret. Have been tempted to make duct-tape boots for some of ours, esp, if scratchie, scratchie all night. Would like to bell them but worried about leaving collar/harness on - pity you can't get a RFID on their chips so alarms go off if they move across the perimeter. I know you can get GPS microchips - there was consideration of putting them in the release polecats.

The concern is if something goes wrong with chip, hard to recover a wild animal for medical treatment. But do like the idea of the GPS - thing is, due to spectrum interference issues and lack of decent spectrum, the range will be very low esp for an animal that likes to travel. So maybe better suited to jills than hobs.

What's a thermo one?

Boots/shoes are the way to go then the little buggers won't be able to climb or grip to escape, AND no scratching carpets either

A thermo chip is one that can give the body temperature if the vets have the specialist scanner. It avoids the need for a rectal temperature. It also has the normal identichip function as well. Havent used them myself so dont know a great deal about them other than the scanners are expensive and the chips cost more than normal identichip ones.
