My beautiful Chaz has departed  :cry:

Went out to feed my two girlies and Chaz was just laying there, next to her food and water  :cry:

I have only ever had two ferrets, Chaz and Fuz, and losing her first is a complete shock. She was perfectly fine yesterday afternoon and she is the younger of my two girlies at 5-6 and enver had single illness. Been crying for the past few hours and feel so bad that Fuz no longer has a ferrety friend.

Couldn't bear to leave Fuz outside so now she is living in a smaller cage in my bedroom (currently ripping up some paper and making a mess) so I can keep an eye on her, petrified that it might be something contagious.

But here is to Chaz, the most beautiful, bouncy ferret, best friend of Fuz and incredibly clumbsy. I will miss you but never ever forget you and you gave me 5 years of cuddles, licks, a few nips and a lot of laughs.

Awww, so sorry Mel.. looks like you had a great 5 years with her. Hope it is just old age, and nothing else :fuzzyhug:

Im so sorry to read your news about Chaz  :cry:

Its not a young age for a ferret, but its not really really old either.
At least it would seem she did not suffer, with any pain or a long running illness.

Fuz has a bad tummy :( she seems herself but because of what has happened to Chaz it worries me, I think it might just be stress of losing Chaz and moving home but definitely going to keep an eye on it x

No 5 or 6 isn't old but like an other animal, or humans for that matter, there are many reasons for a sudden death, the majority aren't contagious so although it wouldn't hurt to get Fuz checked over try not to worry too much.
