That's awful Lee... It's scary how quick they can go down hill...

We had a rescue Jill (Snowey) who came to us at 7 years old. She seemed as fit as a fiddle, and was a proper maniac, literally bouncing off the walls, and the same as you, one night, before going to bed, she was all over the place, having ferretone, and playing like a mad thing, and the following morning, stone cold.... Same thing, vet said it was a heart attack... never saw it coming.

Sweet Dreams Vic and Micky, you had a great time doing what ferrets are meant to do. Have a ball at the Rainbow Bridge.

This has taken me a couple of weeks to bring myself to write this. In the space of 3 days I lost micky and vic. First was vic she was fine at 5pm when I gave them there dinner ( 3 pigeons 1 rabbit & 2 chicken carcasses) I went back to see them at 8pm and she had sadly died. The vet said it was a heart attack . She was 5 years old and as fit as a fiddle, she would work for hours chasing rabbits all day. Them there was Micky, the day before he died he was absolutely fine docking and war dancing with the others, the following day I got home from work, went in to feed them and he came out of one of there sleeping areas and he was skin and bone, I couldn't believe it was even possible for that to happen, as I went to pick him up he went to do a wee and it was pure blood, I took him to the vets and after some tests it came back that his kidneys, liver were in extreme failure so I had he put to sleep. He was coming up to 12 and he had a great life, he acted like a kit till his dying day.
Losing 2 so  close has hit me hard and also the other ferrets. They a missed so much

Thank you both  :fuzzyhug: Raven has followed me round none stop today, sitting in the ferret room watching the others checking on Fizz. It was so heartbreaking watching her nudging Raffy's body when I took him out of the hutch.

Lesley I'm so so sorry, I picked this up when we were travelling back from popping out when I read this aloud to Clive and promptly burst into tears.

What a little  :angel1:, he had such an amazing life with you, learning to enjoy it again.

Give Raven a cuddle from us.

Ohh no... He had a wonderful life with you, and learnt to trust again, which at the end of the day is the most you can ask.

I was feeling sorry for myself last night, misery loves company, so I was reading back through some of our other departed fuzzy obituaries, and it was amazing how many of them seemed to actually have a couple of great days, almost to the point you wondered about their illness, then just went to the bridge overnight. It's another fuzzy quirk.

Poor Raven, I hope she feels a bit better.  :fuzzyhug:

Sweet dreams RiffRaff.  :adore:

My little fighter, I never expected to find you had gone this morning, not after the way you rolled about in the bubble wrap, paws in the air laughing your socks off last night, gobbling up your last supper with such vigour you looked so happy and content as I bid you goodnight, no warning it would be the last time. Your insulinoma was a blessing in disguise, you went from my bitey meanie to such a sweet loving old man with daily kisses. The bond you had with Raven was so amazing, she has cried none stop just like her mum after finding you asleep this morning. Run free and go find Eddie my little man, love you and miss you forever xx

Flyte, daddies girl, passed away in his arms today, there was no other place she would rather be.

Reading through our old posts on her just shows a snapshot of just what an amazing and mischievous life she has. In fact reading through it roles reversed she would be dancing on my grave and certainly taking my side of the bed! :adore:

I will always remember her curled up in his hood sticking her tongue out at me, and nibbling me whenever she thought he wasn’t looking.

We try to always include ferrets in everything we do, where we can, and it’s made some wonderful memories and hopefully a full and varied life for Flyte.

She is the last of our pink sausages, mum Megan, Dad “Toby”- lerone,  Aunty Snowy and brothers Reject and Picnic came today to keep her company. The 3 witches are reunited, there’s going to be magic now.

Until we meet again gal, I’ll look after him as best I can till we are all together again.

Thank you Megs for the privilege, I’d do it all again.

About 6 days old, having been here 3 days, as a pink sausage. :kiss1:

One of mums socks is convenient on a caravan trip.

Cuddles of course.

Poppet and Flyte cuddles

How I will remember Flyte always.
